Finding the focus to follow our heart, to put our visioned dreams into action. To be clear and direct in our relationships, to know our boundaries and respect the boundaries of others. Being able to define who we are and who we are not in the world. Connection. Getting things done. Seizing the moment. Finding the power in our centre and focusing it into action. Making decisions and sticking to them. Giving our-self or another person our focused attention.
We let the beat pulse through every part of the body and our being, bringing into expression anything that’s going on – we let it out in our dance.
To see someone dancing and living who gets the rhythm of Staccato in their body is a beautiful thing – clarity of movement, of speech and action. Putting the heart into motion is the journey of this rhythm.
Staccato Challenges
When we don’t get Staccato it can feel really awkward and uncoordinated, (and those can be great inspirations for movement), just letting that be the case and focusing on the beat is probably most helpful for those of us who find this Rhythm challenging.
For me, Staccato is such a gift and such a challenge. I need it to balance my life, to help me get things done, to get beyond the spirals of Flowing in which I could spend my whole life given half the chance. So I practice getting clear in my movement, being precise, but also letting my Staccato be fun and wild.
When we begin to feel these Rhythms in our bodies, they catalyse changes in our lives to balance our tendencies and help us grow in new directions.
